Mark Dawson - Superintendent
Up next in our Meet the AFT Team series is Mark Dawson. Mark is one of AFT Construction's great superintendents, spending most days in the field managing our trades on-site. Originally from England, Mark has extensive experience in the construction industry on both the management side and cabinet making. Mark is approaching his one-year anniversary with AFT Construction and his work has primarily focused on the commercial side.

What does your role entail? Subcontractor scheduling, coordination and quality control on the job site.
Past Experience/Background: Construction management, supervision, cabinet maker/installer.
What do you enjoy about working in the construction industry? Every day is different, every day has a new challenge, constantly learning new things from all different trades. The most exciting element of construction for me is the creation of something new and seeing it develop from the design and plans to completion. It is such a satisfaction when the project is completed, and you can say to yourself, I helped build that.
What type of construction is your favorite? Commercial
What do you enjoy about working for AFT Construction? I like that we are a Team. I like that we can share ideas to make something better or more efficient, and I like that we do team building events.
What was your first job? Working on a farm
Where were you born? Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England
What advice would you give to someone who is considering a home remodel or building a new home? Choose AFT to be your general contractor!
Best advice you were ever given? Never underestimate the power of positive thinking!
Do you have any hidden talents? Yes, but they shall remain hidden.
When is the last time you climbed a tree? Last December to hang Christmas lights
